Whenever a business is relocating, they often require heavy plant and machinery dismantled, loaded onto vehicles and reassembled at a different location. This “lift and shift” service is something we at Armquest specialise in, and what’s more, we can handle the operation from start to finish, allowing the customer to focus on other aspects of the project, knowing the disassembly and relocation is covered. Specialised Department

While we hire offer crane hire to a range of industries, Armquest have their own lift and shift team who have many years’ experience in the field, and our regular customers include Imtech, NG Bailey and Lorne Stewart, to name but a few. We are trained and qualified to safely dismantle heavy plant and machinery and transport it to a new location, and with state of the art heavy loading equipment and the right type of transport, we are equipped and ready to undertake any project, large or small. We have six large depots across the Manchester region where we keep our extensive fleet of cranes and equipment, where our teams are based.

The Planning Department

Carrying out a lift and shift operation isn’t just a question of turning up with the right equipment and starting work, in fact, before anything is done, we first plan the operation in its entirety. This is critical, as there are always exterior factors to consider, and this is something the planning department would take into account. Once the project has been fully assessed and all essential data collected, we can then plan the operation in detail.

Plant Dismantling

Before anything can be lifted, the plant must first be dismantled, and we have several teams of very experienced technicians who have experience with all types of heavy plant and machinery, and we can handle working in any environment. It might be that the plant is now redundant and is to be recycled, or as in a majority of cases, it is a straightforward relocation, in which case, we will rebuild the plant when it arrives at its new home.

The Lift

Our experts will assess the lift and ensure that the right cranage is used, and with our impressive fleet of mobile cranes, we can ensure that every lift is safely carried out. Our vehicles will be onsite and ready for loading, with the team ensuring that the plant is loaded and secured firmly before the transportation begins.

The Shift

We plan our routes very carefully, and should we need the help of escorts, the relevant services will be contacted in advance and provisions made for the transportation. We are fully insured and have many years of hands-on experience in relocating heavy plant and machinery, and by having the resources to handle the project from start to finish, you, the customer, do not have to concern yourself with the details.
